About Jeffry Lohr, the Teacher The best teachers are gifted in the fine art of teaching but should also possess a mastery of their subject matter. Mastery of a craft can come only through years of total emersion and full time professional focus in a specific discipline. Formally recognized as both an excellent teacher and multiple times recognized as an accomplished master of his craft, Jeffry welcomes a limited number of interested individuals to join him for a very special experience in his Practical Woodworking Course at J.D. Lohr Woodworking, Inc. Originally trained to be a woodworking teacher, Jeffry Lohr graduated from Millersville State College in 1976 with a B.S. in Industrial Arts with his post graduate work done in Fine Art at West Chester University. Jeffry taught the woodworking program at Norristown Area High School for 13 years until leaving the public school teaching profession in 1989 to devote his full attention to his own studio furniture work. Since establishing his studio in 1988, Jeffry has produced original, one-of-a-kind and limited edition Arts & Crafts style furniture for prominent collectors in 22 states across America. The wait listing for some of his pieces can be as long as two to three years. Jeffry is now actively moving in a new Live Edge Free Form direction with his regular studio work. An interesting lecturer and entertaining demonstrator, Jeffry has once again entered the arena as teacher. This time however, it is on his own terms, on his own turf, and he is armed with the wisdom that only more than a decade of real life professional studio woodworking experience can give. Regardless of the class, Jeffry's Practical Woodworking course will focus on the working knowledge of the craft that only a seasoned professional can impart.
