To really know about wood, you've got to spend some time in the woods! Welcome one and all to my Wood Gallery This page will be a work in progress but for my fellow woodworkers and especially my students in search of very nice material, below is a list of my own unique lumber sources. In each case, these are small operations that will often have unique material at very good prices so give them a call and check them out. Sorry folks, none of these guys have websites but you will find a visit to their mills and lumber racks well worth your time. Just tell them Jeff Lohr sent you and I am sure they will do what they can to get you the material you need.

Sawmill / 2. Hudock's Hardwoods & Sawmill, / Dan Hudock, Perkiomenville, PA (215) 234-2535. http://www.hudockshardwoods.com/ Broad range of generic and figured plank stock at good prices. Dan will also do custom sawing of your logs for you at a flat hourly rate which can be hard to find in this business. All must understand however, that no matter where you go for custom sawing, if the mill hits metal or foreign objects in your logs, you are liable for blade sharpening and/or replacement in the event of such accidents. Dan is a very fair guy so don't hesitate to use him if you have a need. 3. Irion Lumber, / Wellboro, PA (570) 724-1895 http://www.irionlumber.com/ Excellent source for a wide range of furniture quality hardwood.
