Wondering what the heck  you are looking at on the left?

Kind of hard to visualize but what is shown here is the fabrication and testing of our massive timber planing mill we built to accommodate the huge tree slabs we work with.  The walnut slab being cut here with our  contraption is only 1/3 the size of the 57 inch x 14 foot flitch this machine is capable of dealing with.  The walnut slab you see on the left is a rough walnut slab salvaged from a local golf course when they expanded the 9th hole. The walnut slab shown looks big but please check out the Allen English Burl Table to get a better sense of what we can handle.

This page is a work in progress and will be updated later this spring with photos of some of our extraordinary live edge tree slab flitches.   Below is a close friend and associate Rick Hearne of Oxford, PA who cuts nearly all of our massive timber we cannot handle on our small shop bandmill.
